Bristol Member Meet-Up
- 04 Apr 2022
On Wednesday 30th March, IPSE run a local member meet-up in The Hole in the Wall pub in Bristol. Members from across the area met, networked and discussed issues affecting their businesses with IPSE’s Director of Policy, Andy Chamberlain. Here are a few words from the host of the member meet-up, Faye Dicker from Freelance Mum:
It was a brilliant night at the Bristol meet up, with a fab collection of freelancers (both IPSE and non-IPSE members) from the South West.
The Hole in the Wall made for a lovely, relaxed venue and a great opportunity for everyone to gather and chat. There must have been a dozen people, from a really diverse range of sectors, who relished the opportunity to meet in person and chat about the day-to-day challenges and opportunities we’re all facing.
The fact it was face to face, with no fixed agenda, made for a great evening. Andy Chamberlain gave a brief chat about IPSE and the organisation’s work, which in turn opened up a group conversation about freelancing in the UK and the differences between freelancing/setting up in other countries.
I was able to share my story of Freelance Mum, pivoting during the pandemic and received lots of positive feedback. Everyone left buzzing, brimming with ideas and keen to stay connected. A great night was had by all – can’t wait for the next get together!
