ABOUT IPSE

Helping self-employed people
build stronger businesses.

IPSE is the UK's not-for-profit membership community dedicated to the self-employed. We help people who work for themselves protect their business, grow with confidence and have a stronger voice on the issues that affect them.

Independent. Never alone

Because working independently shouldn't mean doing everything alone.

OUR STORY

How it all started...

1999

IPSE was founded as the Professional Contractors Group (PCG), bringing contractors together to challenge the introduction of IR35.

SINCE THEN

The world of self-employment has changed, and so have we.

TODAY

IPSE supports a diverse community of self-employed professionals, providing the collective voice, expert support, practical protection and connections they need to build stronger businesses and thrive on their own terms.

Mission

Our mission

We unite the UK's self-employed into a single voice strong enough to drive lasting change in Westminster, and a community strong enough to help every member grow on their own terms.

Vision

Our vision

To be the foundation upon which independent professionals build thriving businesses on their own terms, shape the future of work and never face the challenges of working independently alone.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Our values

Members First

We listen to our members, understand the challenges they face and focus our expertise, support and influence on helping them thrive on their own terms.

Stronger Together

We believe independence doesn't mean going it alone. We bring people together to share knowledge, build meaningful connections and create a collective voice that's stronger than any one of us alone.

Expertise in Action

We turn expertise, insight and real-world experience into practical support and evidence-led action that drives meaningful change for the self-employed.
