  • Webinar

This webinar is part of IPSE’s IR35: What you need to know series. Other webinars include IR35 in April 2021: Interactive Q&AHow to win outside-IR35 and high-paying contracts through LinkedIn Outreach and Thought Leadership and IR35 - How is the market reacting?

For many contractors the imminent changes to IR35 in the private sector will mean, for the first time in their professional careers, they are forced to consider working via an umbrella company. It’s a significant change to the way they work, pay tax and even to their employment status. It also opens up the risk of working with a non-compliant umbrella that could leave contractors exposed to life-changing tax investigations, such as we’ve seen with the loan charge.

IPSE has campaigned forcefully against these changes – and we will continue to do so, even after 6th April – but the government, it seems, is determined to push ahead and we want to provide members with the information they need. This webinar will be hosted by IPSE’s Andy Chamberlain and Chris James, Director of Accounting at JSA Services, and will cover:

•    Why clients and agencies are pushing contractors towards umbrella working
•    The tax implications of working ‘on-payroll’
•    Liabilities for Employers NI and Apprenticeship Levy
•    Your rights under employment law
•    How to avoid non-compliant operators
•    And why using an umbrella doesn’t have to mean saying goodbye to your company

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions during in the webinar, but you can also send your questions in advance to [email protected].
