Submit to the House of Lords IR35 investigation

Right now, the House of Lords Finance Bill Sub-Committee is asking for contributions to its investigation into the changes to IR35 due to come into the private sector in April.

As part of IPSE’s #stopIR35 campaign, we have asked you to write to your MP and make your voice heard about the harm these changes will do to contractors, client businesses and the wider economy. Many of you have done this – and MPs are listening.

Now we would like you to write to this committee too. This is a chance to flood key decision-makers with evidence of just how bad these changes will be. This is a chance to get your views in front of people who can turn this around.

You might want to mention:

  • What your client has said about the changes to IR35: are they planning to stop using contractors?
  • What you plan to do: are you considering contracting abroad, retiring early or any other steps?
  • What the impact on you and your family will be.

You can read more about the Lords investigation here.

To submit evidence, email your submission to [email protected] by 23:59 on 25 February 2020.
