Held at Kings Place in central London in June, NFD 2018 was IPSE’s tenth annual celebration of the great and the good of the UK’s freelance community. The event was the biggest and best yet with over 400 attendees, 40 speakers, five streams and 11 sponsors.

Structured around four key streams – health and wellbeing, digital, winning work, and financial – the day brought together some of the UK’s brightest freelancers and speakers from a range of industries, specialisms and companies including Uber, Aon, Sanctus and Beavertown Brewery.

IPSE CEO Chris Bryce commented: “Since the inaugural NFD 10 years ago, the event has grown significantly, and this is wonderful recognition of the fantastic work our team – led by our events manager Claire Barrance – put into making this year’s event such an overwhelming success. While it is disappointing we didn’t win, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to all the winners on what was a brilliant evening.

“As the representative body of 74,000 members and a wider self-employed population of nearly five million people, it is our duty to host events that provide this sector of the workforce with all the tools, advice and networking opportunities to thrive in business. With an event like this, it’s never been easier to go freelance.

“Led by preeminent figures from business, politics and freelancers themselves, the day discussed topics from managing your finances and winning work to content writing and improving health and wellbeing. Judging by not only this recognition but feedback from attendees, speakers and sponsors, NFD 2018 did all that and more. Next year has a lot to live up to!”
