IPSE members and self-employed carers will get a better deal out of a new partnership between IPSE and the online platform HomeTouch.

Through the deal, 25,000 self-employed carers who use the HomeTouch platform will be able to access a new bespoke IPSE membership product, offering sickness and injury cover, jury service cover, personal accident cover and a range of partner benefits.

It’s not just HomeTouch carers either: through the deal, existing IPSE members will also be able to get a 20 per cent discount on the first two weeks of any care package on the site.

Corinne Stuart, IPSE’s Head of Commercial Development, commented: “With this deal, we’re giving our members with elderly relatives and other caring responsibilities a significant boost. Not only that: we’re also delighted to be supporting a vital part of the self-employed sector: carers. Too often, amid all the talk of taxi drivers and takeaway deliveries, people have overlooked a group of self-employed people who protect, support and even save the most vulnerable in our society. With our new membership offering, we’re giving them some of the support they need and deserve for themselves.”

Dr Jamie Wilson, CEO of HomeTouch commented: "We are delighted to the be able to offer HomeTouch home and live-in care to IPSE's community of self-employed professionals and members. Being self-employed can present extra challenges in terms of looking after elderly family members and we hope our service can help IPSE members both find quality care and also manage care remotely with our award-winning suite of care tools."
