Julia Hilger-Ellis

After graduating from university and early management roles with BA, Julia took on increasingly senior programme management and business transformation roles with the NHS and emergency healthcare sector as well as for clients in the transport and policing sectors. In addition to her interim management and business start-up experience, she has board-level experience with a national charity and the Cyber Rescue Alliance.

Iain Sturrock

An engineer by training, Iain served in the Royal Navy before progressing through technical, commercial and operational roles, most recently as an accomplished interim manager, in major international companies including BOC and Centrica. A founding board member of the Engineering and Technology Board and Vice President of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, he was appointed MBE for services to business and engineering.

Commenting on the election results, IPSE Chair Matt Searle said: “IPSE would like to take this opportunity to thank all those members who nominated themselves in the first-ever all-member Director elections, and to congratulate Julia and Iain as they take up their places on the Board.

“There was a remarkably high-calibre field of candidates this year, and this is reflected in our two excellent new Directors. I am confident they will add greatly to our work of overseeing and setting the strategy for IPSE – and representing our members and the wider self-employed community through the crucial months and years ahead."
