Focus Group on the off-payroll tax consultation with HMRC officials

There are still a few spaces left for our focus group with HMRC officials. It takes place on 18th July 12.30 – 2pm, at IPSE’s offices – Heron House, 10 Dean Farrar St, London SW1H 0DX

The discussion will focus on the consultation document itself. The lead proposal is to extend changes made in the public sector last year, to the private sector. It would mean the IR35 status of engagements would be determined by your client. If IR35 is deemed to apply, you would be put onto a payroll, with full employment taxes deducted, and allowable expenses severely restricted.

There are other options which will also be considered at the focus group, but extension of the public sector rules is currently the preferred idea by the government.

If you are as concerned about this as we are, then don’t pass up this opportunity to explain directly to HMRC why implementing this measure would be mistake.
