West London Member Meet-Up
- 04 Mar 2022
On Tuesday 1st March, IPSE launched its first local member meet-up of the year in The Elgin Pub in Maida Vale in London. Members from across the area met, networked and discussed issues affecting their businesses with IPSE’s Director of Policy, Andy Chamberlain. Here are a few words from IPSE member, founder of Cassia Enterprises Limited and host of the member meet-up, Anne Cutting:
Members who came to the event included those working in Operations Management to digital and business transformation. Our clients ranged from small startups to large agencies with businesses such as Amazon.
The conversation was animated and flowed across a broad range of topics from current affairs to how important it is to network face-to-face following the pandemic. We also talked about shared experiences, the impact of IR35 on how businesses, the legal system, retraining and pivoting careers, and the importance of creating an effective digital footprint.
The meetup wasn’t just about work. We also got onto more lighthearted topics like Aussie cafes – “Milk Beach” and the “Green” chain – Darcy Green, Bondi Green, Beany Green, Timmy Green!
Andy from IPSE also spoke to us about the association’s future plans as well as the work the organisation is taking against IR35 and umbrella companies. Some of us were members back in when IPSE was PCG and we appreciated talking to him about the history of the association.
