Introducing IPSE’s three new memberships: Accelerate, Empower and Advocate

We’ve rebuilt our memberships into three options, each built around a different priority: Accelerate, for senior support and early access to contract opportunities. Empower, for everyday protection and a network around you. And Advocate, for a direct hand in the campaigns fighting for a fairer deal.

Accelerate is designed for those looking to grow their business, sharpen their strategy and have someone senior on hand when it matters. 

It comes with our full suite of insurances, strategic mentoring worth up to £300, and a dedicated account manager who makes it their mission to know your business. You also get early access to new contract opportunities and four complimentary deep-dive sessions worth £200.

Empower covers the everyday and the unexpected: advice when you need a second opinion, support to keep projects moving, and protection when things don't go to plan.

It includes our full suite of insurances, tax and legal helplines whenever you need them, and free IR35 contract reviews. You also get a business hub stocked with contracts and templates, and a network of self-employed people to learn from.

Accelerate and Empower both come with the same protection underneath them, and it's worth understanding why it's shaped the way it is.

A single HMRC investigation can drag on for months or years and rack up legal fees long before it's resolved, which is why our cover runs up to £100k. A client or agency that stops paying, or goes under altogether, can leave a real gap in your income, so client and agency failure is covered up to £10k and debt recovery up to £50k.

Contract disputes and employment disputes can escalate quickly once lawyers get involved, so both carry cover up to £50k, alongside criminal prosecution and health and safety cover at the same level. And data protection carries the same £50k of cover, since a breach can be expensive to put right.

Smaller but still disruptive risks are covered as well: illness and injury up to £2k, and jury service up to £5k, both there to soften the loss of income while you're unable to work.

None of it is cover you hope to use. It's there as a safety net so that you can continue to run your business with confidence.

Self-employment is shaped by decisions made at Westminster. Advocate is for having your voice heard, backing our campaigns, and staying close to the conversation.

It gives you direct support for our campaigns on issues like IR35 and late payment, a seat at roundtables with MPs and officials, and a personal line to our campaigns team on the issues that matter to you.

When we're in the room with MPs and officials, you're in it too. And when policy shifts, you're not caught out by it, you hear what it means before most.
