Self-employed marketplace: Compare accountants, insurance providers and more

IPSE aims to provide its members with all the tools they need to run their self-employed business successfully. Work to achieve this takes many forms, whether it’s the protection of the insurances included with membership, our policy work on the front line in Westminster, our cutting-edge research into the matters affecting you or providing a means to get the best support and guidance for you and your business.

As part of this, we are pleased to introduce, for 2021, the IPSE Marketplace. Here you can access great products and services, from a range of companies selected by IPSE, to benefit your business. And generally, as an IPSE member, you will get a preferential deal too.

How can I compare providers in the marketplace?

I have already spoken in previous blogs about our partnership with Markel Tax, who offer expert tax advice, legal support, and discounted business insurance via your membership. Recently our partnerships team have been busy adding to the list of services available to you.

If you are looking for accountancy services tailored for the self-employed then there are a range of options to choose from in the business section of the Marketplace, with partners offering, among other things, general accounting, company formation, IR35 switch, umbrella services and much more. In this section, you can also get details of workplace companies like Regus and Spaces, foreign exchange services from OFX, and cyber and mobile phone insurance from Naq Cyber and SO-SURE respectively, as well as more information about our partnership with Markel Law & Markel Direct.

In the home section of the Marketplace, you will find details on our arrangement with mortgage specialists for the self-employed, CMME, as well as an alternative option to the IPSE pension scheme from Raindrop and a discount for IPSE members on self-storage from Big Yellow Self-Storage.

Your health is important to us too and, alongside our longstanding partnership with AXA Healthcare to offer health insurance to our members, we can now introduce new partners; Health Assured and Boxx, who offer health, fitness and wellbeing services for use at home or on the go and free to try for IPSE members.

We also want to give you an opportunity to develop your skills and your business and you will find discounts for training and coaching from BeLiminal in the development section.

Find out more about Marketplace

We are expecting to add more to the Marketplace in the coming months and if there is anything that you would like to see offered there, whether that is a general category you think we’ve overlooked or a specific business that you’d like to recommend, please let us know. You can email the partnerships team at [email protected] with suggestions or details. And if your business has something to offer the IPSE community, please don’t hesitate to get in touch as well, we would love to hear from you.

As always, if you have any questions about any of the above, our partner offers, or your IPSE membership please contact the membership team by email at [email protected] or by phone on 0208 897 9970 and we will be happy to help.

How to prepare for April IR35 changes

Despite 20 years of tireless campaigning by IPSE, it is unfortunately now almost certain that the government is going to go ahead with the ill-advised rollout of this damaging legislation to the private sector in April.
