Creating a lasting impact on the self-employed landscape

At IPSE, we’re on a mission to grow, but we can’t do it without you. Our strength and influence as an organisation come from members like you – dedicated individuals who believe in a strong, independent, not-for-profit voice for the self-employed. Without your support, there would be no IPSE, and no dedicated voice advocating for the self-employed community.

Many of you have reached out regarding the tax changes announced in the most recent Budget. The changes to Employer National Insurance Contributions impact both limited company directors and those currently working inside IR35. Our response to these changes was highlighted in national media, including the Independent, the Telegraph, and the Express. Additionally, we learned that more sole traders will soon be required to participate in Making Tax Digital.

Our policy team acted swiftly, directly addressing these issues with ministers right after the Budget announcement. We will continue to work closely with government ministers, officials, and MPs to advocate for a fairer deal for everyone running a self-employed business.

The more members we have, the louder and more impactful that voice becomes. With each new member, our ability to campaign for the self-employed only strengthens. That’s why we’re reaching out to ask for your help: if you believe in our mission, please refer at least one person you know to join IPSE. Your referral isn’t just a number; it’s a step toward a more powerful, unified voice for the self-employed.

Together, we can amplify the voice of the self-employed.

What is the IPSE member referral scheme?

As a not-for-profit organisation we rely on the support of our members to be able to deliver effective policy campaigns, run hundreds of events a year, offer protection to our members, and create up-to-date and informative resources.

Word of mouth is vital for us as an organisation, and for every new person referred to IPSE membership, members can create a lasting impact on the entire self-employed landscape.

Each IPSE member has a unique referral code (find it in your member portal) you can share with your fellow self-employed professionals to give them 10% off membership. You'll then get 10% off your next membership renewal!

How does the referral scheme work?

Every IPSE member has their own unique referral code. This can be found by heading to the "Refer a friend" section of your member portal. Your friend can use your code when signing up for membership and their 10% discount will automatically be applied.

Once they've officially become a member, you'll automatically have a 10% discount applied to your next membership renewal.

How many people can I refer?

You can send your referral code to individuals you know who you think will benefit from IPSE membership or you can even post it on your own website, social media or blog. There is no limit to the number of people you can refer, however the 10% renewal discount you receive can only be applied to your membership renewal once and cannot be deferred.
