National Freelancers Day
National Freelancers Day is IPSE’s biggest event of the year – a celebration of all things freelance, and an opportunity for self-employed people across the country to look to the year ahead.
With reports from attendees of feeling ‘energised’, ‘liberated’ and ‘connected’ at an ‘enlightening’ National Freelancers Day last Thursday, I think we can safely say that the event was a huge success. I would like to say a massive thank you from the IPSE Membership Team and everyone at IPSE to everyone who came and made it such a great occasion.
The excellent speakers throughout the day were very well received and there was an optimistic buzz around the chat and networking sessions with the focus very much on looking forward to building future success after what has been a difficult year for many.
If you came to the event but missed a session or were registered but unable to attend, you can now catch up on all the sessions from the day and you can even register now if you haven’t already and want to watch the recordings.
Work at IPSE never stops to bring you fantastic events alongside all the other benefits of membership and we are delighted to have announced that the IPSE Freelancer Awards 2021 will be held on Thursday 14th October at Kings Place in London. Nominations are open now and will close on Friday 6th August so there is plenty of time to make sure you get yours in and are in with a chance of winning.
We were incredibly disappointed to have to cancel the event in 2020, of course due to Covid-19, so it is with great pleasure that we are now able to start preparing for this years’ awards, a chance to look back at the successes and achievements of freelancers over the past two years.
There are an expanded eight categories to apply for this year, and you can enter as many as you like or are eligible for. Choose from; ‘Outstanding Freelancer’, ‘Young Freelancer’, ‘Freelancing Project’, ‘New Freelancer’, ‘Collaboration’, ‘Covid-19 Success story of the year’, ‘Wellbeing’ and the ‘Best Self-Employed Supplier’ awards and find out all about the nomination process by visiting the Freelancer Awards website.
Alongside the launch of the Freelancer Awards we are also continuing our busy schedule of webinars for members and non-members after a brief pause for NFD.
Next week we welcome the founder and MD of the London School of Sales, Vinit Shah to talk about redefining effective selling, followed by a conversation about freelancing, post-IR35 on the 1st of July. You can get CV, networking and personal branding advice when we host the CV & Interview Advisors on 6th of July and guidance on social media marketing for freelancers on the 13th from tutor Andrew Lloyd Gordon.
Next Wednesday, 30th June will see us host our third IPSE Member Meet-up, where IPSE members can come and have a confidential chat about the issues affecting them; the theme this month is how IPSE members find work. Andy Chamberlain will facilitate the discussion and, as always for our Member Meet-ups, spaces are limited so please book early to ensure you can attend. Full details of our upcoming webinars, member meet-ups and other events can be found on the Events page on the IPSE Website.
If you want to get in touch with any queries about our upcoming events, you can reach our events team directly at [email protected] and you can contact the membership team at [email protected]. Alternatively, please feel free to give us a call on 0208 897 9970, we love to hear from you!
