‘Tis the season for the self-employed to let loose and celebrate their victories! On Friday, November 24, freelancers from across the UK gathered at the Freelancer Magazine x IPSE BIG Christmas Party, a spectacular event that brought the freelance community together for a day filled with festivities, games, and networking.
This event was a special celebration for those who don't typically have the chance to enjoy a traditional office Christmas party.
The day promised a lineup of exciting activities and did not disappoint! Attendees were treated to the beats of DJs Dom C and Mary Rose, and the event was expertly hosted by the charismatic Tom Garfield.
Guests enjoyed welcome drinks, party food, and a chance to connect with fellow freelancers who understand the unique challenges and rewards of being their own bosses.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the American pool team fun 'killer' tournament. The competition was fierce, and after thrilling matches, Sarah Harper and IPSE member Simon Akers emerged as the pool tournament champions.
The winners, finalists, and semi-finalists all walked away with some amazing prizes, including Freelancer Magazine swag and books written by IPSE members, such as Planning for Success: A Practical Guide to Setting and Achieving Your Social Media Marketing Goals by Luan Wise, Succeeding as a Young Entrepreneur: Lessons in Life and Business by Harvey Morton, and Loving your doubt: Why everything we think we understand and know about Imposter Syndrome is (probably) wrong by Adrian Ashton.
Attendees also had the opportunity to brush up on their pool game with lessons in trick shots from a professional coach. Whether a novice or an experienced player, everyone had a chance to become a trick shot star.
But the excitement didn't stop there—arcade video game championships, table football showdowns, electronic darts, and various party games kept the energy high throughout the 6-hour event.
We were delighted to see freelancers from diverse backgrounds engage in meaningful conversations about their experiences, challenges, and successes. It was a testament to the strength and vibrancy of the freelance community.
We hope that all of you who came along enjoyed a well-deserved opportunity to unwind, connect, and simply have a great time with your fellow freelancers. Here's to more celebrations and successes in the year to come!
