From 6 April 2026, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self-Assessment becomes mandatory for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000. The threshold will reduce to turnover above £30,000 in April 2027 and above £20,000 in April 2028.
This marks one of the biggest changes to the tax system since Self-Assessment was introduced more than 30 years ago.
Just weeks before the new rules go live, IPSE is hosting a dedicated live online Q&A focused entirely on Making Tax Digital for Income Tax.
We will be joined by members of HMRC’s external readiness team, with IPSE’s Josh Toovey hosting and putting your questions directly to them. This is your opportunity to hear directly from HMRC and leave with clear, practical guidance about what the changes mean for you and your business.
Whether you are new to MTD and want a straightforward overview, or you have already started preparing and have more detailed questions, this session is designed to provide clarity and confidence ahead of April.
To register for the webinar, click the Book Now button below and sign in to your IPSE account.
If you are new to IPSE or do not yet have an account, you will need to complete our short registration process before booking.
We recommend securing your place early to avoid missing the opportunity to put your questions directly to HMRC.
