Sales Executive

 

About the job

Location: Hybrid (attend our central London office weekly if based in/ near London. Attend once a month or quarterly if based more that 2hrs from London). 

Salary: £28 - £30K plus commission (OTE 40K-50K)

Contract: 12-month fixed term contract 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Reporting to: Director of Membership

 

Are you a motivated sales professional looking to grow your career in a dynamic, purpose-driven organisation?

IPSE, the UK’s only not-for-profit membership organisation representing the self-employed, is seeking an ambitious Sales Executive to help drive membership growth and strengthen relationships with independent professionals.

You’ll play a key role in generating new opportunities, converting prospects into members, and promoting the value of IPSE membership - helping us expand our reach while supporting a growing community of self-employed professionals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Hunt and convert self-employed people into membership.
  • Seek new prospects and build your own pipeline
  • Achieve growth targets set by Director of Membership
  • Follow up on leads from marketing campaigns to convert prospects into membership
  • Accurately promote the benefits of membership ensuring the value proposition is clear and appealing
  • Recording all activity within the CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Collaborate with internal teams and key stakeholders to identify brand awareness opportunities
  • Support the development and implementation of sales strategies to drive sustainable membership growth
  • Some travel around the UK may be required to attend events

     

What We're Looking For

Membership Executive

 

About the job

Location: Hybrid/ central London office

Salary: £28,000 plus commission

Reporting to: Membership Support Manager

 

IPSE’s Membership Team is looking for a new team member who’s passionate about learning, professional growth, and making meaningful connections with our members.

This role goes beyond customer service. You’ll work closely with the team to support key goals including retention, growth, and brand awareness, while delivering a consistently high standard of member care.

As the direct link between IPSE and its members, you’ll handle member data responsibly, solve problems proactively, and continually develop your skills.

The Membership Team is the heart of IPSE - we represent our members’ voices and ensure their membership experience remains positive and rewarding.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle member queries via phone and email
  • Maintain accurate member records and process payments/refunds in the CRM
  • Make outbound calls to warm leads, members, and at-risk or lapsed members to support growth and retention
  • Promote and upsell IPSE products and services where appropriate
  • Support new member onboarding and encourage engagement with the IPSE community
  • Act as an IPSE ambassador and encourage referrals
  • Work with IT on website/CRM issues and carry out regular data clean-ups
  • Support events, webinars, and cross-team member projects as required
  • Any other ad-hoc administrative tasks as reasonably requested by manager

     

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a customer service or customer-facing role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive mindset - no member request is too big or too small
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • A genuine desire to help, connect with, and support people
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • CRM experience is advantageous, but not essential

Finance Assistant

 

About the job

Location: Hybrid

Salary: Up to £40,000

Contract: Temporary to Permanent (21 hours a week)

Reporting to: Director of Finance

 

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking to build on your experience in a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation?

IPSE, the UK’s only not-for-profit membership organisation representing the self-employed, is seeking a proactive and capable Finance Assistant to support the Director of Finance in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining financial controls, processing transactions, and supporting internal and external reporting – helping us continue to deliver strong financial stewardship and support our growing community of independent professionals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure the smooth running of all finance operations.
  • Ensure adherence to IPSE’s financial control policies and highlight any compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate purchase ledger records, including supplier payments, credit card transactions, staff expenses, and reconciliations.
  • Manage the sales ledger in coordination with internal teams and support effective credit control.
  • Post and reconcile all bank transactions across accounts.
  • Assist with month-end processes and post accurate and timely journals for the month-end process.
  • Reconcile monthly CRM reports for the month-end in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile all control and balance sheet accounts.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Assist in audit preparation and respond to auditor queries with supporting documentation.
  • Help maintain and update the Finance Procedures Manual.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and maintain accurate financial records via Xero and Dropbox.

     

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS and complex formulas).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • A clear, confident communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised, able to multitask, and a team player.

 

Desirable:

  • CCAB part-qualified or AAT Level 3 qualified
  • Experience using Xero.
  • Degree-level qualification.
