Membership Marketing Executive

About the job

This role is to focus on the improvement of engagement and conversion metrics throughout IPSE’s marketing funnel.  It is a hands-on role, assisting with our campaign planning, delivery, and analysis.

You will be confident with a wide range of digital channels, as this is a varied role with lots of ways to make an impact.  The role will also have a focus on member segmentation and email communications. Working closely with the team, you will assist in the launch of integrated marketing campaigns at all stages of the funnel - brand awareness, lead generation, acquisition, and engagement.    

You will be analytical by nature, using data to continually optimise creatives, channels, and messaging to deliver maximum results.  The role will enable you to flex your creative muscles with the rest of the team, as we love to test new ideas in all our work.  We need someone who is a natural self-motivator to ensure we keep moving IPSE forward!

Acting as a central point for marketing across the organisation, you’ll work closely with Events, Policy, Press, and Membership teams to ensure all marketing activity is coordinated and executed.

With all the new ideas and multiple campaigns running across our channels, you will need to have a strong level of organisational skills and enjoy project managing across different specialisms in the team, to ensure campaigns get delivered with maximum effect. 

 

Key responsibilities

You will work with a small, agile, and multi-skilled team. We are looking for you to lead on the areas below:

  • Work with the Marketing team to devise integrated marketing campaigns with the aim of acquiring and retaining members.
  • Project manage the implementation, tracking, and measurement of marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with the team to maximise ROI for brand awareness, and member acquisition and retention campaigns.
  • Manage various marketing email campaigns, including the template designs, calls-to-action, and content used in our email sends.
  • Segment member and non-member data to tailor campaigns and communications to maximise effectiveness.
  • Act as a central point for marketing across the organisation, working closely with events, partnerships, policy, and press teams to deliver campaigns.
  • Measure results and optimize the lead nurturing workflows for these segments to convert leads into customers, through email, content, and social channels.
  • Use data to inform new campaigns and implement constant test and learn strategy, assisting the team with A/B testing and other methodologies.
  • Creative mind-set, looking for innovative solutions to achieve organisation objectives.
  • Write, edit, and proofread copy for promotional materials within marketing campaigns.
  • Help to brief and oversee the work of internal and external agencies, such as designers, animators and printers when needed.
  • Ensure that the organisation’s brand and identity is adhered to in campaigns and in all communication channels.
  • Work within a set budget.
  • Keep abreast of current trends in marketing.

 

Key skills

  • Superb organisational and project management skills to work with the team to deliver engaging marketing campaigns.
  • Analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and optimization, with an ability to use data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communicator, in both written and oral skills.
  • A creative thinker to continually challenge the status quo and try new ideas.
  • Experience with email marketing and web analytics.
  • Proficiency in web analytics software (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Hotjar) and email software (e.g. Campaign Monitor).

 

Experience

  • Undergraduate or higher level of education, in marketing, business, communications, or similar.
  • 3-5 years of relevant marketing experience.
  • Demonstratable results in delivering multi-channel campaigns to increase brand awareness, leads, and/or revenue.
  • Preferred – experience in subscription, membership, or recuring revenue industries.
  • Preferred – hands-on experience/specialism of email marketing.

Member Engagement Representative

About the role

This is a hands-on role, assisting the Membership Team with the improvement of member engagement and retention. You will ideally have an outstanding phone manner and excellent communications skills and take an enthusiastic approach to dealing with a range of member issues. You will be patient and understanding and have a drive to provide an exceptional level of customer service to each individual.

Experience working within a membership organisation, customer service team or similar is desirable. Experience of verbal customer liaison via telephone is essential and experience/ knowledge of CRM systems would be beneficial. You will enjoy working as part of a team and have a natural aptitude for engaging with people in a positive manner.

IPSE’s Membership Team prides itself on an exceptional standard of customer service and you will play a key role in ensuring this is maintained and that the level of service our members have become accustomed to is upheld. You will become knowledgeable about all aspects of IPSE membership and act as an ambassador for IPSE and its values.

Key responsibilities

Member retention:

  • Renewal calls to lapsed and archived members, discuss the benefits of membership.

  • Manage the cancellation process – book in calls with members to discuss their alternative options.

  • Contact “pending cancelled” members to offer alternative options to cancelling, using the cancellation reason data to inform.
  • Outbound calls to mid-term cancellation attempts.

 

Member engagement:

  • Provide 1:1 phone service for new joiners, offered as part of the onboarding journey.

  • Outbound calls to abandoned basket list to discuss membership options, help with any issues.

  • Outbound calls/ emails to event attendees to highlight benefits of joining.
  • Social channels – actively interact with members with via the IPSE social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, IPSE Community)
  • To support the Marketing team with ad-hoc requests for comments/ feedback to posts.

Additional responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming calls and emails from members.

  • Maintain knowledge of IPSE products and services.

  • Maintain and update the CRM and alert IT of any system issues.
  • Assist in regular reviews of website, suggest improvements to member functionality and UX. 
  • Provide assistance to membership coordinators when needed, i.e. lunch breaks and absences.
  • Assist with and attend events/ webinars when required.
  • Liaise with and provide support to other teams/ departments on joint projects when required.


Knowledge and experience

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM systems (desirable)
  • Knowledge of online payment processes (desirable)
  • Working within a team
  • Working within a customer service environment
  • Sales / retention experience (desirable)

Content Marketing Executive

About the job

We are seeking a multi-talented Content Marketing Executive to develop industry-best content for IPSE.  Our content is fundamental to evolving our member experience, our marketing approach and therefore the future of IPSE.

You will be comfortable creating/managing/editing across a variety of media types and be ready to take on the challenge of impacting on community engagement, social engagement and marketing impact.

As a SEO and writing expert, you will assist with the implementation of best practice across the organisation, be responsible for curating valuable content for our audience and source new and exciting writers from the freelance community to contribute.

 

Responsibilities

You will work with a small, agile, and multi-skilled team. We are looking for you to lead on the areas below:

  • Lead the development of our content strategy across both IPSE and Freelance Corner brands.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business, customers, partners, and subject matter experts.
  • Find stories from within our community and audience to create inspiring content to be deployed across all our channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing to engage our audience with innovative ideas.
  • Coordinate content delivery schedule across the company in-line with strategy.
  • Be the guardian of IPSE and Freelance Corner’s tone of voice and writing style.
  • Drive our SEO strategy through content development, web optimisation, and partner relationships.
  • Develop engaging content in other media, such as photo, video, infographics, webinars.
  • Adding or editing website content using the appropriate Content Management Systems; ensuring consistency of design and layout of content across the sites.
  • Assist the team in other areas with content support, such as social media, landing pages, and emails.
  • Responsible for the production of podcasts for Freelance Corner, including the acquisition of guests, organisation, and overseeing the editing of the podcasts.
  • Editing and commissioning written content for in line with the objectives of the company.
  • Detailed analysis of metrics, with platforms such as Google Analytics, to evaluate content performance and suggest future strategy.
  • Manage freelance support when required.

 

Skills

  • Superior writing and storytelling skills that engages and delights.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in copywriting and SEO execution.
  • Ability to conduct content research and identify topic areas to generate maximum interest.
  • Proficient in understanding commercial performance data and extracting and manipulating customer data with the ability to convert it into actionable information.
    • Knowledge of photo/video editing, such as Adobe Creative Cloud or online software, e.g. Canva
  • A creative thinker to continually challenge the status quo and try new ideas.
  • Proficiency in web analytics software (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Hotjar).
  • Excellent communicator with ability to sell and convince.

 

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, English, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of relevant content experience.
  • Experience using SEO and content software, such as SEMRush and BuzzSumo.
  • Preferred – experience in subscription, membership, or recuring revenue industries.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic, looking for the right company to support personal growth.
  • Knowledge of the self-employed sector and political environment preferred.
