IPSE has been named Membership Organisation of the Year at the Memcom Awards 2021. It also won Highly Commended for Public Awareness Campaign of the Year.

Derek Cribb, CEO of IPSE (the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed), said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been named Membership Organisation of the Year: not only for our work campaigning for freelancers and excluded groups during the pandemic, but also for how we adapted and worked to support and represent our members and the wider self-employed community over the last year.

“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at IPSE for your tireless work over the last year and a half – and for everything you have achieved for our members and all self-employed people.

“It’s been an extremely difficult year and a half for self-employed people across the UK: now the challenge for us and the focus of our efforts is getting the sector back on its feet and securing a better business landscape for the freelance community. We hope this award will be a spur to more and greater successes campaigning for the UK’s freelancers.”

Mandy Clarke, Co-Chair of IPSE (the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed), said: “We are extremely proud that IPSE has been named Membership Organisation of the Year, and the Board would like to thank the entire IPSE team for their hard work bringing this about. It’s been a tumultuous year and a half, and we are proud of the IPSE team for bearing up in tough circumstances and achieving this brilliant result.

“In an extremely difficult time, the IPSE team have adapted our resources and managed to deliver unprecedented support – not only insurances and tools for our members, but also free resources for the wider self-employed community. Our guides have even been cited by the Department for Business as an essential asset for freelancers. We hope the IPSE team can not only continue providing such crucial support, but also build on their work and get our members and other freelancers the resources they need whatever the coming years may hold.”
