AA and IPSE in new partnership to support self-employed with breakdown cover

The AA is now offering its business breakdown services to members of IPSE, the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed. Representing 74,000 members, IPSE provides research and policy activity to provide a better environment for freelancers, interim managers, consultants, contractors and other self-employed individuals to run their businesses.

The AA joins a series of high-profile partners in providing offers for IPSE members, with other benefits including mortgages, online banking and wealth management. Alongside standard roadside assistance, the AA’s package includes award-winning tracking technology which allows IPSE members to see when an AA mechanic is on the way, meaning greater ability to onward plan and deliver against operational requirements.

IPSE members will receive significant savings across the AA’s fleetwide packages, featuring roadside cover, cover at home, national recovery and onward travel. Designed to lessen the disruption associated with a breakdown or accident, IPSE members will benefit from their drivers being looked after and the minimisation of any potential loss of earnings through being off the road.

Suneeta Johal, Director of Commercial Development at IPSE (the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed), said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the AA so they can offer our members across the UK their excellent services and benefits. Mobility is especially important for freelancers and the self-employed – not only for travelling to and from client sites, but also for finding new work and clients across the country. We hope this exciting new partnership will help our members stay connected, mobile and able to get where they need to be.”

Gavin Franks, director of business services, the AA, added: “We’re privileged to work with some of the most prestigious public and private sector organisations across the UK. Partnering with IPSE means we can provide our flexible breakdown solutions to even more drivers. With around one in seven of the UK’s working population self-employed, keeping this vital sector of the economy moving is incredibly important. Our bespoke packages for IPSE members will allow them to drive smart, secure in the knowledge that they will be covered in any eventuality.”
