IPSE believes the tax system should reward enterprise, be clear and simple to administrate, and should be designed with the very smallest businesses in mind.
Unfortunately, our tax system is currently ill-equipped to cope with the modern labour market and the commercial realities of small business. It’s a system built around employees and employers, yet 15% of the labour market is now self-employed and this vibrant population continues to grow.
Without fundamental reform, businesses will continue to be blighted by bewildering tax policies, which are designed to cram modern working practices into a rapidly aging system.
