Defining and Estimating the Size of the UK Freelance Workforce, 2008

IPSE commissioned the Small Business Research Centre at Kingston University to research the nature and size of the freelance marketplace in the UK. The principal aims of the study were to provide a definition of freelance work; derive estimates of the size of the UK freelance workforce; and profile their personal, work and organisational characteristics.
