IPSE member meet-up: The Chancellor’s Budget and what it means for you

This event has now passed...

However, we run over 100 events (both virtual and in-person) throughout the year.  Please feel free to search through our upcoming events where you can get the latest insights for your business and the world of self-employment.

October’s member meet-up is going to be all about the Budget. What was in it, what wasn’t, what did we like and what did we … well, not like?

Chancellor Rishi Sunak will deliver his second Budget this year on 27 October - the day before the meet up. After announcing truly significant tax changes last month with the health and social welfare levy which saw substantial increases in dividend tax and National Insurance, it’s possible this will be a quieter affair than usual. But Budgets have a way of springing surprises, sometimes even pleasant surprises (not recently it has to be said) so it will be interesting to see whether there’s any support on offer for those working for themselves.

We will have been busy reacting to the Budget and poring over the detail in the back ground but we also want to get a snap shot of the immediate reaction from our members. Tell us how you think the Budget will affect your business, your clients and the economy as whole.

The discussion will be facilitated by IPSE’s Director of Policy, Andy Chamberlain. To keep the discussion manageable, spaces are limited and given on a first-come-first-served basis.

Due to popular demand the meet-up on Thursday 28 October is now fully booked. However a new date has been added for Friday 29 October at 08.30am. Members can register for the additional meet-up here.

This is an IPSE member exclusive event.
