The Association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed (IPSE) is pleased to introduce AXA PPP healthcare for their personal and business healthcare cover.
Being self-employed can be incredibly rewarding. But it can be tough at times too. When ill health strikes, there’s often no one who can pick up your workload for you which can add to the stress of being unwell.
At AXA PPP healthcare, our healthcare cover aims to get you back to work quickly through prompt access to diagnosis and eligible treatment for new medical conditions that arise after you join, depending on the underwriting option you choose. With access to over 250 UK hospitals, you’ll be much more in control over where and when you’re treated. It may be more affordable than you think too, as you can tailor your plan to best suit your needs and your budget.
Whether you choose a personal or a business plan, our healthcare cover comes with the following benefits:
- Fast Track Appointments service – If your GP recommends that you see a specialist and you have the out-patient option as part of your cover, you can avoid the NHS waiting lists and be seen quickly by a specialist at a time and place that works for you.
- 24/7 health information and support – from our team of nurses, counsellors, midwives and pharmacists via our Health at Hand health information phone support line1.
- Working Body service – giving you access to a physiotherapist over the phone without the need for a GP referral for support with bone, muscle and joint problems2.
- 50% off annual PureGym membership – if you take out personal or small business healthcare cover with us, you’ll also get 50% off annual PureGym membership3.
As an IPSE member, you qualify for a special offer of two month’s cover free when you take out a personal or business plan4

Personal health insurance
If you don’t have a business bank account, you may be interested in our Personal Health insurance.
With our Personal Health plan our core cover means that you can usually expect things such as full hospital fees including operating-theatre costs, specialist fees, consultations, diagnostic tests, CT, MRI and PET scans and physiotherapy to be covered as standard, as long as you use a hospital from our Directory of Hospitals, and you're an in-patient or day-patient.
Our core cover even offers support for children, as well as support for more serious conditions such as cancer (subject to your medical history). As with all medical insurance we can’t cover everything, but you can be safe in the knowledge that we will do our best to support you.Find out more
